TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Chairman Alaeddin Borujerdi said on Wednesday that the French government is expected to promptly inform the Iranian government of the result of its investigations into the murder of two Iranian citizens.
Borujerdi made the statement while speaking to IRNA about the assassination of two Iranian citizens, Morad Amoun and Kasra Vafadari, in France.
He urged that the French government should have fulfilled its responsibility in this regard much earlier, adding that it should have informed the Iranian officials of the issue.
The MP said that the French government should arrest those behind the crime, punish them severely and pay compensation to the families of the two assassinated Iranian citizens.
Meanwhile, Borujerdi sympathized with the families of the two assassinated Iranians and their Zoroastrian countrymen.
One of the two Iranian citizens, who were assassinated in France, Kasra Vafadari, is Zoroastrian.
He regretted that a country like France is not sufficiently secure so that two Iranian citizens have been assassinated there.
The other assassinated Iranian citizen, Morad Amoun, who was in prison for 14 months, was assassinated on April 12, 2005.
"Then his corpse was buried in France, while neither Iranian Embassy in Paris, nor his family were informed," concluded the head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.
